ORGANISATIONS AND PEOPLE DO NO TRANSFORM THROUGH STRATEGY DOCUMENTS
They transform when people learn differently, decide differently, and act differently.
At Better Organisations, we design challenge-based learning systems that build adaptive capability, strategic clarity, and sustainable innovation capacity.
We do not just deliver training.
We engineer learning environments that reshape how organisations think and operate.
CHALLENGE-BASED LEARNING IN REAL CONTEXT
Practical Education
We design challenge-based learning formats where participants engage with authentic problems through structured inquiry, experimentation, and reflection. Our work combines educational design, gamification, micro-learning, and facilitated workshops into coherent learning architectures.
Innovation is not treated as inspiration but as a disciplined, intentionally designed process. The goal is to build capability: the ability to frame problems, test assumptions, collaborate under pressure, and make responsible decisions.
LEARNING DESIGNED FOR REAL COMPLEXITY
Challenge-Based Education
Challenge-based education in our practice is a structured method, not an open-ended activity. A clearly defined challenge anchors the learning process, with explicit boundaries, expectations, and learning outcomes. Participants move through a guided sequence: exploration, framing, ideation, testing, synthesis, and reflection.
Trade-offs and constraints are made visible rather than simplified. Assessment is aligned with capability development, not only final outputs. The emphasis is on disciplined thinking and transferable skills.
PLAY IT OUT!
Gamification as Decision Architecture
We use gamification deliberately to structure complex decision-making. Role-based formats, simulations, and scenario exercises allow participants to experience system dynamics rather than only discuss them. Gamified elements clarify consequences, highlight interdependencies, and surface conflicting priorities.
This approach is particularly effective in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation contexts where trade-offs are unavoidable. Gamification supports cognitive clarity and engagement without trivialising the subject matter. It is a method for structured reasoning, not entertainment.
Micro-Learning and Applied Experimentation
Learning is most effective when it is continuous and embedded in practice. We design hybrid formats that combine workshops with short, focused micro-learning modules and applied experimentation. Participants test ideas between sessions, gather evidence, and return with insights for structured reflection.
This creates a rhythm of learning and application rather than isolated events. Micro-learning supports reinforcement and behavioural change. The result is capability built through iteration.
(SUSTAINABLE) BUSINESS DESIGN WORKSHOPS
We design and facilitate structured Business Design workshops that help organisations design, test, and validate business models under real market and societal constraints.
Our approach is grounded in experimentation, systems thinking, and sustainability logic. We treat business models as dynamic systems of value creation, delivery, and capture — embedded in broader economic, environmental, and regulatory contexts.
Focus Areas
1. Business Model Architecture
- Clarifying customer segments and stakeholder groups
- Defining value propositions grounded in real needs (Jobs-to-be-Done logic)
- Mapping revenue logic, cost structures, and key resources
- Identifying ecosystem dependencies and value chain dynamics
2. Sustainable Business Design
- Integrating People–Planet–Profit logic into the business model
- Mapping economic, social, and environmental value flows
- Identifying externalities, long-term risks, and regulatory exposure
- Stress-testing viability under future sustainability constraints
3. Assumptions & Risk Identification
- Surfacing critical desirability, feasibility, viability, and sustainability assumptions
- Prioritising uncertainties based on impact and risk
- Distinguishing evidence from belief
4. Evidence-Based Experimentation
- Designing structured experiments (MVPs, pilots, prototypes, co-creation trials)
- Defining validation criteria and measurable success thresholds
- Creating experiment roadmaps and learning cycles
- Establishing governance for disciplined iteration
Outcomes
Participants leave with:
- A structured and stress-tested business model
- A portfolio of prioritised hypotheses
- A defined experimentation and validation plan
- Clear decision criteria for scaling, pivoting, or stopping
The emphasis is not on producing canvases, but on building organisational capability to design viable, resilient, and sustainability-aligned business models through evidence.
ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE FACILITATION
We facilitate structured sessions focused on organisational culture as lived practice - not as abstract values or aspirational slogans.
Culture, in our perspective, is the system of shared assumptions (values), behavioural norms, and beliefs that shape how work actually happens. Effective culture design aligns behaviours with strategy and long-term intent.
Focus Areas
1. Purpose & Strategic Coherence
- Clarifying organisational purpose beyond profit
- Connecting purpose to strategic choices
- Identifying inconsistencies between declared values and operational reality
2. Values into Behaviour
- Translating values into observable, concrete behaviours
- Defining expected conduct in key organisational moments (decision-making, conflict, collaboration, innovation)
- Establishing non-negotiable principles
3. Cultural Diagnosis
- Identifying hidden norms and behavioural patterns
- Surfacing friction, silos, and misalignment
- Assessing psychological safety and autonomy
4. Decision & Accountability Design
- Clarifying decision-making rights and escalation logic
- Strengthening responsible autonomy (“freedom within a framework”)
- Aligning incentives and leadership practices with declared principles
5. Embedding & Reinforcement
- Linking culture to hiring, evaluation, and reward systems
- Defining cultural rituals and feedback loops
- Establishing behavioural standards and accountability mechanisms
Outcomes
Outputs are operational and concrete:
- Clarified purpose and value statements
- Defined behavioural standards
- Agreed cultural commitments
- Clear decision-making principles
- Alignment between leadership behaviour and organisational intent
The objective is coherence between strategy, structure, and behaviour - enabling organisations to become adaptive, responsible, and internally consistent.
COACHING
Structured Capability Development Through Reflective Practice
Coaching at Better Organisations is an educational process designed to strengthen strategic clarity, disciplined experimentation, and operational effectiveness. It creates a structured environment in which managers, founders, and teams examine assumptions, refine decision logic, and translate strategy into consistent practice. Coaching is grounded in real organisational challenges and measurable progress. The focus is on building durable internal capability rather than providing external answers.
We offer coaching across four interconnected domains:
Management and Strategic Coaching
Supports leaders in strengthening evidence-based decision-making, aligning values with behaviour, and managing innovation without destabilising operations. It develops clarity in strategic positioning, accountability structures, and responsible autonomy.
Entrepreneurial Coaching
Supports founders and entrepreneurial teams in clarifying purpose and value creation logic, iterating business models, designing validation experiments, and navigating market entry or transition. It integrates business design with hypothesis-led experimentation and reflective learning.
Consultative Sales and Value Communication
Supports teams in developing consultative sales capability rooted in listening, problem framing, and value articulation. Coaching strengthens the ability to understand client contexts, translate solutions into tangible value, and align commercial conversations with long-term relationship building. It connects commercial activity with strategic intent rather than short-term transactions.
Productivity
Supports individuals and teams in improving focus, prioritisation, and execution consistency. This includes strengthening decision routines, managing cognitive load in complex environments, and aligning daily work with strategic objectives. Productivity is treated as a structural capability, not a time-management technique.
LEARNING FOR PROFIT, LEARNING FOR VIABILITY
For Businesses and Organisations
We support organisations that want to build internal innovation and collaboration capability. Challenge-based learning can be used to explore new business models, sustainability integration, ecosystem positioning, or strategic transitions.
Participants work on real organisational challenges within a structured learning framework. This allows experimentation without uncontrolled risk.
The focus remains educational: developing skills, decision discipline, and shared understanding. The outcome is increased organisational learning capacity.
WORKING THROUGH ERASMUS+
For Higher Education and Erasmus+ Projects
We collaborate with higher education institutions and European partners to design transferable challenge-based learning models. Programmes are aligned with defined learning outcomes, assessment logic, and cooperation objectives.
We support curriculum integration, facilitator enablement, and responsible partner engagement. In Erasmus+ contexts, our formats are designed for adaptation across countries and institutional settings. Outputs are documented and reusable.
The emphasis is on educational quality and long-term applicability.
