Better Organisations is pleased to announce its participation in the Horizon Europe research and innovation project 4Sir2: Building a Healthy Drink Ecosystem to Prevent Childhood Obesity. Funded by the European Union and coordinated by ProAkademia, the project unites leading European scientists and industry partners to pioneer sustainable, health-oriented innovations.

The 4Sir2 project aims to develop a functional beverage specifically designed for children with obesity, using grape or apple juice as a base and enriched with bioactive compounds from grape-processing by-products, such as resveratrol. These compounds have been shown to activate sirtuin genes involved in metabolic regulation, providing a scientifically grounded approach to preventing childhood obesity.

Beyond its nutritional benefits, the project will introduce innovative and sustainable processes in grape cultivation, processing, and beverage production, creating a natural, affordable, and minimally processed alternative to existing functional drinks.

Ewa Kochańska, President of Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia (coordinator), opens the kick-off meeting of 4Sir2.

Better Organisations will lead the work on implementing an Industry 5.0 approach for 4Sir2 project. By deploying a tailored model for the project’s value chain, we aim to enhance sustainability, resilience, and human-centric innovation across the grape and fruit processing industries - ensuring that technological progress translates into real benefits for people, businesses, and the environment.

“We are proud and humbled to contribute our expertise in sustainable business design and Industry 5.0 to this international collaboration,” said Witold Wisniewski, Founder of Better Organisations. “Working alongside leading European scientists and partners, we aim to combine human-centric innovation, empathy, and resilience with cutting-edge scientific and technological advances” - he added.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme and coordinated by Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia, with contributions from a consortium of leading European organizations. Find out more on our project site.
